Death at the National Gallery

I know it sounds morbid, but it’s still sort of Halloween, right? And over the centuries humanity’s obsession with death and what happens after we shuffle off this mortal coil has had a continuous and exciting influence on art.
Here are just a few examples…

Stranger Danger (Italian edition)

I’m starting to get the impression that I can’t have a proper holiday anymore without putting my life in the hands of at least one stranger. Italy was no different.

Stranger Danger

I would never have survived my three days in New York without strangers. Okay, maybe slightly dramatic, but the people I interacted with certainly nudged me in the right direction when I needed it most.
From photographers to navigators to new friends, be safe and always talk to strangers.

Thoughts On… Grenfell

Six months on and the burned out shell of Grenfell Tower still casts a shadow over Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road.
If one thing has come from all of this, it is that we are stronger than ever as a community. And we will not be silent.

Thoughts On… Au Pairing

It’s an intense, but rewarding experience as an Au Pair. I wouldn’t want to sugar coat it because it is tough; no one has ever said that looking after kids was easy, but you do it for those special moments when you feel privileged to be able to watch them grow up and to have had a hand, however small, in that development.

Road Trippin’

Unusual things often happen on road trips. Things that don’t seem strange until you’re reminiscing about the fun you had and realise what a bunch of oddballs you really are. For anyone who has ever been on a road trip, or, really, anyone who has ever spent a prolonged period of time in a confined space with a couple of friends, you’ll understand exactly what I’m getting at. It’s perfectly normal to be a bit abnormal.
And here are some of the things we got up to…

Rocky Road

My first two weeks in Canada have been amazing and that’s definitely in large part down to who I’ve been travelling with!
It’s going to be sad to leave this crazy bunch of travellers behind, but I’m sure we’ll met up again somewhere along the way…
