Over four days in 1848, William and Ellen Craft fled Georgia for freedom in Pennsylvania. A couple of years later they made their way to England, settling in London and also lecturing all over the UK, sharing and eventually publishing their incredible account. Here is just some of their story.

I would never have survived my three days in New York without strangers. Okay, maybe slightly dramatic, but the people I interacted with certainly nudged me in the right direction when I needed it most.
From photographers to navigators to new friends, be safe and always talk to strangers.
Unusual things often happen on road trips. Things that don’t seem strange until you’re reminiscing about the fun you had and realise what a bunch of oddballs you really are. For anyone who has ever been on a road trip, or, really, anyone who has ever spent a prolonged period of time in a confined space with a couple of friends, you’ll understand exactly what I’m getting at. It’s perfectly normal to be a bit abnormal.

It’s going to be sad to leave this crazy bunch of travellers behind, but I’m sure we’ll met up again somewhere along the way…
